Administrative Changes For London Financial Remedy Matters
Breaking news for London's family law practitioners: His Honour Judge Hess has announced major changes to the case management process for the capital's courts. In a bid to speed up proceedings and tackle lengthy delays, all case administration, including scheduling, will now be centralized at the Central Family Court. Some cases that have been waiting to be heard in other London courts will now be heard sooner at the Central Family Court or the Royal Courts of Justice.
In addition, the MyHMCTS digital portal will become mandatory for eFiling in the London area from the end of January 2023. First appointments and directions hearings will generally be held remotely, with in-person attendance reserved for first directions appointments and final hearings.
The Financial Remedies commentary has been updated to reflect these new arrangements for London's courts.
