Reporting on family cases
After a successful two-year pilot, the Family Procedure Rules have been updated to allow all family courts to issue transparency orders. These orders permit accredited journalists and legal bloggers to report on proceedings, including those involving children, while ensuring anonymity where appropriate. The Open Reporting Provisions aim to provide insight into court proceedings while safeguarding the child’s privacy.
