
What Are The Criteria For Getting A Divorce Or Ending A Civil Partnership?
For a divorce:
- the parties must have been married for over a year;
- the relationship has permanently broken down; and
- the marriage is legally recognised in the UK, including same-sex marriage.
For a civil partnership:
- the parties must have been in partnership for over a year; and
- the relationship has permanently broken down.
